This means that the Opal is in its natural state and has a homogenous chemical composition. Genuine Natural Australian Light Opals are found in limited quantities, mainly in Coober Pedy, South Australia. The Opal is pure hydrated silica SiO2nH2O with elements of Magnezium Oxide present giving it a white base tone.
